Bone staples are a main-stay of the orthopedic world, almost a commodity. So when MedShape reinvented the staple to dramatical reduce breakage after implantation, they wanted a delivery system that was just as innovative.

Our instrumentation set simplifies the installation experience, requires fewer tools, and generates less waste than any other staple instrumentation set on the market.

The surgeon can adjust the Universal Drill Guide to fit every size staple used in the procedure, and use it as a “Sizer” to select the appropriate staple before opening any sterile packaging. This is a dramatic improvement over existing systems that require a dedicated Sizing Tool and a unique Drill Guide for each staple.

The Inserter Tool’s low profile maximizes the surgeon’s view of the site and provides a secure, comfortable grip. The entire neck pulls back to release the staple in any grip position. The Inserter also functions as a tamp to press the staple flush with the bone, eliminating the need for a separate Tamp tool.

The Visual Design Language of the system is a combination of ergonomic curves and crisp edges that are comfortable to hold, and communicate the function of the tools. The black/teal color combination is highly unique in the medical world, and has become recognizable as MedShape’s brand.
