An innovative jogging stroller design ushers Graco into the performance-based baby gear market.

Graco’s baby gear is known for its safety, plush baby comfort, and parent conveniences, but a very different approach was required when the company decided to enter the performance jogging stroller category. They brought the challenge to Creature and our engineering partner, Enginuity Works.

Our strategy was to provide the safety and convenience features that Graco is known for without sacrificing the performance of a jogging stroller. Our design has the lightweight construction, long wheelbase, front wheel tracking, and premium suspension needed by avid joggers. But it also has the convenience of a one-handed folding mechanism that collapses the stroller in one quick second to fit in a trunk – no small feat considering the suspension and brake system.

In keeping with Graco’s emphasis on safety, we developed a system to accept their respected Click Connect™ rear-facing Car Seat. This provides head support for infants, and gives parents direct line-of-sight to the baby while running.

Simultaneously, we worked to evolve a more “stripped down” and lean branch of Graco’s Visual Design Language that was appropriate for the Relay jogger and future performance-based products.
